The Insurance Commission of the Bahamas is excited to announce it is now a sponsor of the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services.
With the new partnership, The Insurance Commission of The Bahamas welcomes The Bahamas Institute of Financial Services’ G-12 Financial Services Certificate Program. The program held a site visit at the office of the Commission.
The G 12 Program started in 2008 and is for grade 11th and 12th students. Topics of the program include:
Economic Concepts and Application
Financial Calculations and Computer Skills Foundation
Financial Services Institutions and Industry
Legal, Ethical, Governance, and Management Primer
Along with classes, the program offers Internship Immersions, Topical Workshops, and Field Trips to various financial services organizations. As a part of their visit, the students received a tour of the facility, where they met staff and received an overview of the Insurance Commission of The Bahamas and our role within the local insurance industry.
