ICB Partners with BIFS

The Insurance Commission of the Bahamas is excited to announce it is now a sponsor of the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services.


With the new partnership, The Insurance Commission of The Bahamas welcomes The Bahamas Institute of Financial Services’ G-12 Financial Services Certificate Program. The program held a site visit at the office of the Commission.


The G 12 Program started in 2008 and is for grade 11th and 12th students. Topics of the program include:


  • Economic Concepts and Application

  • Financial Calculations and Computer Skills Foundation

  • Financial Services Institutions and Industry

  • Legal, Ethical, Governance, and Management Primer


Along with classes, the program offers Internship Immersions, Topical Workshops, and Field Trips to various financial services organizations. As a part of their visit, the students received a tour of the facility, where they met staff and received an overview of the Insurance Commission of The Bahamas and our role within the local insurance industry.
