  • ICB – Press Release: Insurance Commission of The Bahamas – Support for Lupus 242

Nassau, The Bahamas – May 15th, 2026 — The Insurance Commission of The Bahamas (ICB) marked
Lupus Awareness Month with a donation to the Lupus Foundation of The Bahamas (Lupus 242), supporting its ongoing efforts to raise awareness and assist those affected by lupus.

Observed annually in May, Lupus Awareness Month helps to educate the public about lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects thousands of individuals worldwide, including many within The Bahamas. The Insurance Commission recognizes the importance of supporting organizations that work tirelessly to raise awareness, provide resources, and advocate for those living with the condition.

“The Insurance Commission of The Bahamas understands the vital role that advocacy organizations play in strengthening our communities,” said Rodney D. Bain Jr., Deputy Superintendent of Insurance. “This cause is especially meaningful to us, as lupus has impacted a former member of our ICB family. We continue to support those affected and remain committed to investing in the well- being of our people. We are proud to support Lupus 242 and stand with them in driving awareness, encouraging early detection, and fostering a supportive environment for those affected by lupus.”

As Lupus Awareness Month continues, the Insurance Commission of The Bahamas encourages members of the public to learn more about lupus and support ongoing efforts to bring greater visibility to this important health issue.
